Gregory Porter

Gregory W. Greg Porter, age 48, of Brockton, died Thursday, Jan. 8, 2015. He was born and raised in Brockton the beloved son of Catherine (Tubman) and Kenneth Porter (ret. BFD) and remained a lifelong resident of Brockton. Following his graduation from Brockton High School in 1984, Greg served in the US Army for four years. Most recently he had been a cab driver for Cowens Taxi in Brockton and previously had worked at the Shaws Warehouse in East Bridgewater. Greg was a talented and creative musician who played the keyboard and also loved to sing. He enjoyed watching movies and all sports. Greg will be remembered as a gentle and good hearted man. Greg is survived by his parents Kenneth and Catherine Porter of Plymouth and Jensen Beach, Fla. and a sister and two brothers Karyn (Porter) Waterman and her husband Douglas of Middleboro, David Porter and his wife Elizabeth of Middleboro and Glen Porter and his husband Laurence Plotkin of Burlington, Mass. He was the father of Autumn OConnor of Florida and grandfather of Isabella. Greg leaves five nephews Joshua and Zachary Porter and Jacob, Andrew and Benjamin Waterman. Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte. 123), Brockton on Wednesday 4 - 7 p.m. followed by a funeral service. Burial will be at a later date.
